Age of Empires: The War Chiefs is the first expansion to Age of Empires III.

Add three new Native American civilizations: the Iroquois, Sioux and Aztecs. This decision is not without controversy, as Age of Empires III did not include native civilizations to make a politically correct game and not include any reference to the Aboriginal genocide. In fact, Age of Empires III the only way to fight native warriors is an enemy of the Old World is allied with a Native American tribe. The buildings of the native villages and towns can not be attacked, but all that changed in the expansion. The Aztecs have their metropolis where they received reinforcements while the Sioux and the Iroquois have tribal councils. The game will create new native tribes minority would replace the former Minority civilizations from the original game, these are the Sioux to be replaced by the Cheyenne, Iroquois by the Hurons and the Aztecs by the Zapotec, sometimes by the Mayans.
